Kaveena Jayasundara

From a young age, Kaveena Jayasundara's journey into the world of modeling and acting began with a spark. At just 3 years old, she appeared in various ads, from Air Lanka greeting cards to Emirates and Singer commercials, and instantly fell in love with the art of storytelling through visuals. But as she grew older, Kaveena realized that she needed to focus on her academics and sports, so she took a break from the media to pursue other interests.

However, her love for modeling and the stage was never far behind. During her time at Universal College Lanka (UCL), she rekindled her passion by chairing and performing in her first-ever fashion show, an experience that reignited her drive. After moving to Australia, Kaveena dove back into the world of modeling, participating in runway shows and commercials, blending her love for the craft with her strong sense of purpose.

Kaveena’s humanitarian spirit has always been an integral part of her life. At 16, she organized her first charity project with friends, showcasing her early dedication to making a difference. Growing up, she was deeply influenced by her father, an army officer who was always involved in community service, and her mother, who tirelessly supported various charity events. It was through their example that Kaveena developed a profound passion for giving back.

In 2019, Kaveena co-founded and became the two-time president of the Sri Lankan community at Deakin University, furthering her commitment to cultural and community engagement. Her dedication to humanitarian causes reached new heights when she was crowned Miss Sri Lanka Australia 2023, a title that not only symbolizes her grace and determination but also her unwavering support to better and uplift her community in Australian. In 2024, she started her passion project to empower Sri Lankan women through Project Manike. Project Manike – a platform dedicated to empowering women and providing them with the tools to succeed in all aspects of life.

Alongside her passion for modeling and humanitarian work, Kaveena is also a dedicated IT Business Analyst. She believes that both in her career and her personal endeavours, true fulfillment comes from blending her talents, values, and ambitions to create a lasting impact.
